Hi, just had my main wiring harness and PCM replaced do to a tree rat and my ? is I had my EGR unpluged and t- plate removed (2004) when they replaced the harness and PCM ford had the plug on the EGR back in I told them I had the t-plate out but do not realy now if the tech got the mesage. got the truck back and it has no get up and go like the EGR when it was pluged in unpluged and still the same ???
Well I talked to the dealer today ,they did do the new flash when i told them how the truck was runing with no power he said he has not heard of that before. then today the truck started blowing blue smoke I going to take the truck back to them on monday. I need to tell the whole story to you. My warranty was up at the end of april so I was looking under the truck and found a oil leak, turns out the truck had a bed plate and rear main seal leak, they made the repairs under warranty. when they put things back together thats when the PCM blew do to the squirrel that chewed the EGR plug off. I had the wire's tapped and the t-plate removed. When they replaced the main wiring harness they did plug it back in as you know. so I have unpluged again but the truck is still runing like crap. My insurance paid 4 the squirrel's PCM & harness and ford paid 4 the leaks I paid my insurance deductible And now this blue smoke thing so what to you think of that???????
I think I will put the T-PLATE back in, plug the EGR in and disconect the battery's before monday. and see what the dealer has to say. Cant understand why this truck is acting so bad with only 64254 miles the, 6.0 is all stock, I drive it hard, dont pull more the 6000 lbs maybe 3-5 times a year. Only thing I have done is 4.5 dr lift with 35's and winch on the front But now the 5years are up and it runs so bad.
LOT'S of smoke just got back from a test drive after installing T-plate and EGR plugged in and truck is blowing smoke when I punch it RPM's up to 3000 and about 5mph then slams into second and th same thing
well the dealer replaced the EBP SENSOR and the truck is runing great as of now,has all its power back like the 1st day i ever drove it home. I starting to wonder if I should just keep the EGR plugged in it seems that when they installed a new EGR last AUG 2008 the truck had 58895 mies on it. I then read about how these EGR's are not the best thing on these trucks so I unpluged it and removed the throttle plate since that time I have had injector's 5&7 replaced, bedplate & rear main seal oil leaks and now on my second EBP SENSOR????? And now the truck has 64888 miles on it so in just under 6000 miles I have had nothing but problems. are all these things related ?? I just dont know, but I do know that my waranty is up, so its full price on repairs DONT KNOW WHAT TO DO just happy it is runing good again, and how long only time will tell.
