Guidance for Removal & Replacement of 4R100 transmission??
First off I want to say I am new to the forum as of today so not sure how to navigate it yet.
MisterCMK In 2009 you posted information from manuals on removing the transmission from a 03 Navigator. I tried to down load the posting but was unable to do so. Could you re-post this information or shed a little light on how I can retrieve it?
Thank you!

I pulled it out of the factory service manual IIRC
Here ya go. I had to finish up one of our service vehicles as well as change the oil in the forklift so sorry for the wait. I have the removal, installation and the specifications in PDF format.
4R100 Removal
4R100 Installation
4R100 Specifications
Edit: It would be a VERY good idea to purchase a transmission jack for the job. I believe you can get them from Harbor Freight rather reasonably. I wouldn't attempt to horse around with a floor jack like you can with a manual tranny.

What information do you seek, and for what model truck?
Apologies, I've been very busy dodging the weather and as well as having pc and connection issues. The vehicle I’m attempting to put the 4R100 in is my 1999 (January), Ford Superduty F250 5.4L 4wd. I purchased the vehicle knowing it had transmission Issues back in 2015-16. I only basically use this vehicle as a tow vehicle and or when the weather demands more than my little 1999 Ford Ranger, 3.0L FFV Rwd, can handle, and it has not necessitated that I install the transmission until now. I had asked for the files (4R100 Removal;4R100 Installation;4R100 Specifications) that were offered online in this thread (Guidance for Removal & Replacement of 4R100 transmission} as I was unable to access them (possibly due to the length of time from originally posted). I was hoping to view the above mentioned info/files as sort of guidance. I should like to mention, the R&R is complicated by the fact that the 4R100 has been setting, covered in a field since about 2016 (I did watch the salvage yard remove it from a low mileage, running Navigator). I am doing this in the driveway with just a floor jack(s) and jack stands and have raised the truck up to what I hope is enough to clear (rudimentary measurements were used and basically is 30 inches to the bottom of the running boards and can/will go up more if necessary). I am a retired Ford Engineering person; Primarily, at the Engine Manufacturing Development Operations for North America. However, while we did have plenty of salaried Ford mechanics and many were my friends; many of us have moved on and now I live in a more rural setting and lost touch with anyone from that group. I am mentioning the previous as a bit of background as to my ability and knowledge of such things. Additionally, I've R&R quite a few transmissions and a couple of engines in my day, having grown up in the 60s-70s in and around the Metro Detroit Area, where "Motor Heading" was the norm. To get on with it, I cannot seem to put together much info other than a typical Haynes Manual and what I can garner from this wonderful and informative Ford-Truck Enthusiasts site. After pulling the 4R100 from the field, I took the torque converter (TQ) off drained it, cleaned it up pretty well inspected to the best of my ability. I'm on a fixed income that requires that I be frugal to say the least (and this economy .... mhm ... I wont go there). I did purchase a Front Pump Seal Kit (basically for the seal on the forward shaft where the TQ is mounted). I'm not exactly sure yet how to put the seal on the shaft as I've never replaced any seal that was not totally circumferential (this seal has a split and not a typical ‘O-Ring’, ‘rubber’ seal, I guess its more like a rope seal?). I've also purchased 20 quarts of Ford Motorcraft Mercon V ATF and am considering putting the same amount removed from the TQ with new ATF back in the TQ before installation onto the shaft. Finally, Other than the obvious (am I foolish for using this transmission and or not using a transmission jack etc etc); my questions are: Do I need some adhesive to put the Front Pump seal on, should I put ATF back in the TQ before reinstalling and finally, am I over looking something obvious for my situation. Also, I cannot see a reason to remove the torsion bar as some suggest. My sincere apology for the length of this reply.
