There is no way the "dashpot" diaphragm can leak gas. There is a "accelerator pump" diaphragm that can leak gas, and there is also a power valve diaphgram that can leak gas, but if the power valve leaks, you won't see the gas, it just pours into the engine and makes it run rich.
Just want to make sure you get the right thing at the store.
it was the accelerator diaphram that was leaking. I replaced it for $8 and it worked. But then there was gas coming from many places, so i bought a whole rebuild kit.
Thanks for the advice. I just didnt want to get suckered into buying a whole new carb. This was the first time I had ever worked on one, and I didnt know what was available.
