F100 Supernationals - Where to Stay?
I'm thinking of driving down to the supernationals and I'm not familiar with the area at all. I could use some input on decent hotels to stay in. Or better yet which ones to avoid at all cost. If any of you have been there in the past and have any tips it would sure help.
Thanks

haven't been in a couple of years..but I remember there is NOTHING right around the show exit... go north a couple of exits to Strawberry Plains exit. Three or 4 decent medium priced places and a couple of restaurants...
do a google on "Strawberry Plains" and Knoxville you should find something both decent and affordable
later

'Nats...sleep-cheap-infoand other interesting "stuff"...
...we went last year and stayed at the Sleep Inn North. It is nothin'
too fancy...just a clean place to fall-out at the end of the day.
Sleep Inn North (TN216)
5460 Central Ave. Pike , Knoxville, TN, US, 37912 |
Phone: (865) 688-7300 Fax: (865) 688-9981
It is a very short ride to Chilhowee Park and almost all freeway...
Once you get cloce to the show there are small signs posted along the
roadside to help you out...one of the most beautiful parks for a show I've
ever seen...
I think there is about 10 or 12 restaurants within walking distance
of the hotel...and I hope you like beer and wine 'cause...well...fill
a cooler and take it down IF ya want anything else while at the
motel......
A very interesting side-trip after dinner one night...heading west on
Merchants Drive away from I-75 you'll run in to more of a local scene.
Sort of a "lower-west-side" scene if ya get my drift...your gonna want
to do this and get back befoe it gets too dark...
We stopped at a few pawn shops and ran across some really nice deals
on tools... and firearms...and...well...your just gonna have to go for a
ride...only a mile or two...
Bring a camera 'cause right off the exit where we stayed your going to see stuff like this...
Ya gotta love this stuff...I wish we could go again this year...but too
much work to do...
