My turn signals stopped working completely and I'm trying to figure out where to begin. They didn't just stop working at first, some times they would work and then other times they wouldn't, and now they don't work at all. Could this be a relay problem. I bought the truck used and didn't get an owners manual, so I'm still googling to find a soft copy somewhere. Any help would be much appreciated
I had previously tested the 20A fuse for the turn signals and it tested good. I replaced it anyway and now the turn signals are working. We'll see if it holds or the problem comes back
maybe you wiggled the flasher while you were at it. My experience with working then not working has been the flasher before. Especially if you have trailer or camper lights, you may need a heavy-duty flasher anyway.
My 04 flashers did the same dance with me for a while. Unfortunately I didn't notice all the times it refused to blink though. The flasher for my 04 is not in the fuse box area. Mine was behind the removable knee dash panel, under the wheel (similar to fuse box), but mounted to the back of a dash brace (right hand side of opening), in a position very hard to get a good look at. I used a mirror and then the Braille method of replacement. Required some yoga moves as well. If yours goes out, I really strongly suggest the motor-craft part though. I've had some store and aftermarket stuff apart and not been happy with quality/materials.
Best wishes, and Welcome to FTE.
