2 pickup beds Im looking at, can you guys check them out

Here are the pictures of the two beds I am currently checking out. The guy wants $500 for the Blue bed, and "$1,000" for the black bed. I think both look nice, and are workable, but i think that black bed is maybe worth $600 tops, right? That rear damage could be expensive to fix.. I almost think the blue bed looks nicer, the black one would probably cost more to fix, but then again i could be wrong. The only nice thing about the black bed is I wouldnt have to get it painted for a while, and I could just slap it on and save some money up and then get the whole truck repainted to give it the final touch. Thanks.

no box is worth 1000, unless its ****in perfect. Just my 2 cents. as far as that damage goes, it would be real easy for a body shop to weld in a new rear corner. You can even buy them off lmc truck. id offer him 7 or 8 for it, but tell him to get boned if he wants a full grand for it.

Id take the black one in a heartbeat, but like i said, for a grand he can sit n spin. Youd have to be there to actually look under the other one to see what the rust is really like.

Its a 160 miles away from me, so if i do go I would want to buy, so he sort of has me in his field because he knows that I am semi-desperate. But I wont give him a grand. like i said maybe 750 like u said

You can buy complete parts trucks for 800 bucks. I would not pay that much for either of those beds.

I agree with TexasGuy.
The only way I would pay $1000 for that bed is if the seller was planning to repair the damage, paint it, and instal it on my truck.
I know a guy trying to sell an 89 king cab long bed with a 460 and e4od for $1200. The body is in very good shape. The truck runs fine seems to drive ok.
Keep looking.
Good Luck Frank

I bought my bed for $100 bucks!!! Has a couple dents here and there but then again I wasn't looking for a great looking bed. Just a solid one.

I got quotes anywhere from $200 to $1200 for beds when I was looking. I think you should look around more... check for guys parting out trucks on craigslist

Yeah I agree, $1,000 a joke. What I have done in the mean time is cut on the floor out of the junk bed I bought and installed it into my old bed, i think it will come out really good, so I might just stick with what I got.

Heres a picture. I plan to sandblast the inner sidepanels and rust proof everything.

I might get chewed here but I don't care.I sold my ford and went back to an 81 chevy.I paid $1000 for a dual tank longbed from texas. You could eat your steak dinner off it.Is it woth it?Yes.I tried to find a clean longbed for my 93 f150. It would have been the same price. It depends on which part of the country you live in.The southern guys have their pick of the litter.Us northern guys are stuck paying bookoo bucks to the guys that truck them up here.I tend to like the black bed.If that little dent scares you,you probobly shouldn't own a truck,(no offense). It's a little fix. What is with the tail pan on it? I would look under that.I can say from experience(talking about the blue bed) once they start to bubble it's all over.Low ball him and get the black one.
