Window Vent visors

Help me out here I was going to order a set for my 97 F-350 and when I got looking I see they have the tape on kind and the in channel. Kinda like the idea of the inchannel kind! Any pros or cons on them? I am going to have them painted the same color as the truck!

I have the in channel ones from weather tech on my Ranger. Seems that you can actually roll the window down a bit farther than the stick on ones. They also hug the window more, so they are less noticeable. Our Sable "came" with stick on ones. both rear one have since fallen off.

Well, If your going to have them painted I would say the tape on ones would be better.

I prefer the inchannels, Weathertech being the high end and EGR being a great middle ground. However if your going to paint them, the tape ons will look better as you will go from the vehicles paint directly to the VV paint without the black trim breaking it up.

That said, I think the light color of the weathertech's tucked in look more stock than painted of any variety. The darker tints don't look bad with the window up either.

I have tinted windows on my ranger, with the dark Weathertech vent visors. Like ReAX said, with the windows up, you can hardly see them.

Mine for the Explorer are the in-channel variety but they came from AVS (they were on it when I bought it) and they are the standard AVS dark smoke color. Against the lighter color (Prairie Tan or whatever they call it) they don't seem to disappear, even with the window tint as it is (factory rear tint and PO installed front tint). I prefer the in-channel over the tape...they just seem to last longer...but as was stated, if you're painting them, the tape will probably be your better choice from an aesthetics standpoint.
