Part Number Help

Hello: I have found laying around my garage a new Pollack 6 port fuel tank switching valve the part number on the part is 6C34-9F271-AA. my dealer says this is not a good part number I would like to know what this fits it is probably for a 7.3 but I am not sure.

6C34-9F271-AA is an engineering no. The OE number is 6C3Z 9189-A.
It fits Ford diesel trucks from 1990-2006.

Thanks very much I don't know why ford puts bogus part numbers on parts sometimes.
