I was wondering if anyone who has changed intake and a 4V carb in a F series truck has a solution for the kickdown. If you do, please let me know so I can maybe get a photo and info as to how you made it work.
I have a '75 F-250, with a C6. It originally had a 390 with rod kick down on the drivers side. But with the 300 and a 4V carb, which sits 90 degrees to the engine, the cable will pull from the passenger side, toward the fender well. Lokar makes a bracket, but I don't know which cable to buy.

Is your cable going to be mounted up over the valve cover, or from around the passengers side of the vehicle? Let me know how that works for you. Thanks for the part number.
I'm going over the valve cover. If I need more length on the throttle cable, I will use the cable for an e-150 4.9. I made my throttle bracket from the cable bracket on an 85 302 efi. where it bolts to the throttlebody, just cut the bottom so that it fit, ran 2 long bolts where the stock exhaust was saposed to bolt on, used 2 pcs of 3/8 x 2" black pipe to hold it up off the intake. will post a pic over the weekend if you need it. my carb has primaries faceing the pass fender
I guess with your primaries facing the passenger fender, your manifold is not a DP. Dang, my carb is turned the other way--primaries toward the valve cover, but I'll figure out something.
no, bought a c. think about the cable for the e-150 4.9, it's really quite long.still can hook the cable over the valve cover, just hook to the bottom of the throttle bracket, not top. you'll have to look at the carb to see what I mean, it will work.
Check out my gallery; my carburetor is 90 degrees as well. Unfortunately, because of my giant AC box, I had to run my throttle linkage from the front, and mount it where the kickdown linkage should have gone. As such, I don't have kickdown anymore. However, kickdown is more of a convenience than anything else. If you need to drop down a gear, you can still manually shift down to 2nd. I hardly ever need it anyway.
