Unhappy wiper problems?

hey all having problems with the wipers. If i leave the pass side wiper arm off it works fine but when i put the passenger arm on, it moves too far to the drivers side and gets stuck? maybe linkage needs to be tightened? i have no idea. Maybe i'm putting the arms on wrong? thanks. o and by the way its 1 speed motor and 66 250. thanks guys.

Check the plastic gear in the motor for wear. Had the same problem on a 65
thirty years ago.

If you want to check without removing motor. Hold thumb at end of articulation of wipers. If wiper will bump against your thumb and return there is a good chance it is wear in the gear. Have you lubricated the articulating joints?

Say BWForge,
What do you lube the linkage with? Never-seize? teflon spray?
I suspect you have to remove the vented cowl section to get to the linkage, correct?

I use the white lube in a spray can. It has a tube with it and is good for areas that are hard to reach.
