serpentine swap

I have a 351W in my '72 I want to put a serpentine pullys setup on it. Will my factory alt. work with the a serp. pully on it? If no,what do I need to run a serp. system?

It might, I would just up grade to the alt that they used with the setup. If your getting in from the junkyard just grab the alt with it.

i used all the aluminum brackets and mounts from my 91 truck when i swapped the serpentine setup on my older engine, bolted right up, looks better, and is lighter

The wiring is different on the newer alt.

i used the 91 alternator, but as far as i know you shouldnt have any problem using your old alternator on the newer brackets, since the mounting points are still the same as far as i know.
