Steering bearings
I have a 1968 f-100, 4x4, 360 and was doing some work on it when i noticed that the front right wheel had some in and out play at the top/bottom. I checked everything out and found the problem to be the bottom steering knuckle bearing for the king pin, it had exploded
. After doing some looking i now see that ford didnt keep that king pin design for to much longer and that i cant get those bearings at a auto parts store, NAPA/kragen and so on. So my question is if i can get those bearings where can i get them, a link would be great. Also do they cross with bearings for any other axles. If anyone knows, that would be great i have to get my truck moved so got to get these parts. Thanks for the help Matt.

i will email them and see if they know if they will work.

Most bearings have a bearing industry number etched onto them somewhere. I have tracked down bearings that were considered " no longer available" by using just the numbers. The bearing industry has virtually endless dimension listings. If the bearing is still somewhat intact but the numbers are illegible a vernieer calipier, a micrometer and lots of patience can save the day.

I figured that would help, because the OP said NAPA couldn't find the parts...but with these numbers, they should be able to. The bearing is still available from Ford.
I have three Ford part number to Manufacturers part number/Manufacturers part number to Ford part number Cross Reference Catalogs that list most bearings, and lots of other stuff covering 1932 thru 1989.

The old paper interchange books are getting increasingly harder to come by. I'm like a spoiled child with his/her favorite toy with the ones I have. If I can find a number I can almost always find a source.
Something else I've found those cross reference charts good for is proprietary parts. Some O.E.M.'s like to put a $100 price tag on a $10 bearing just because their name is on the box.
