After doing some research on it I've read that the brake bias for the front brakes is about 60-70% for RWD and 80-90% for FWD vehicles. Reason being that wheels on the FWD vehicles are also the drive wheels and need more stopping power.
So I'd bet with our heavy trucks we are on the upper end of that 60-70% spectrum and is proven by how long the front pads last in comparison to the rear pads.
love my art's I got them from dieselmanor with the performance friction pads
I spent somewhere around 1k doing all 4 rotors/pads. Unlike you though I felt as if stock was pretty damn good for a 8k pound truck, the ART's do a unbelievable job however. I went aftermarket since it wasn't much of a difference in pricing compared to OEM parts.
Make sure you replace all the slide pins when you do them and lube the hell out of them.
btw you can just do a front set of pads or pads and rotors and that would def. help if you backs are still good.
i drove around for a week while waiting for the shop to get the back set up in (they accidently shipped two sets of front rotors)
and for who ever asked about price, the best price i have found and used was outlawoffroad.com they say they will beat any price and have good service IMO
Yeah, the backs still have some life left so I'm just doing the front for now, especially after the HPOP debacle
Hey Liv, I just noticed you're selling your truck- what gives?
=\ Getting a car. I only get to drive it once every few weeks now since I have a company truck. The selling isn't going so well I didn't realize how bad the market is. I am going to go look at trading it in on Friday.
I've still got a few other 6.0's so I'll still be around.
