How is the best way to remove the pivot arms from the upper a-arms?

sorry, ask a different way..
do you mean remove the metal bar between the bushings?

I had to burn the bushings out when I replaced mine.

Yes , it is the bar between the bushings. I knew you generally had to burn the bushings out but didn't know if the bar was removed first.

no.. you can't get the bar out without removing the bushings..

when installing the bushings press out from the inside.. you put them on the bar first..
