Try to help motor with hands... sometimes it works
The only way is to remove cover, drill out riviets to pull motor with hand... Unfortunatly....
Thanks, I had finally come to that conclusion as I looked further in the door. I realized that there was no prvisions to manually crank the window or raise the window. Hope it doesn't rain much untill I can get the replacement regulator/motor.
Don-other than what is one the "SEARCH" area for windows I would recommend tapping the metal with a hammer right at about where the motor would be. On Ford Windstars after you take the door panel off a dime sized hole is right in the middle and you can easily bump it with an ratchet extension and then spray with WD-40.

Well the issue was at first the windo was hanging up, which sounded like the window regulator was binding up. I am not sure since I ave never had to mess with the window reg/motor in the Areostar, if it is a cable driven assist regulator or a straight gear toothed driven reg.
I ahve replaced window regulators in my car but that is a whole different fiasco.
I have supposidly a working window reg. and motor coming my way so I will get an idea how this one works. I have no real issue with drill/punching the rivets out. I just need to make sure I am hitting the right ones. Seeing as my car used big rivets, and I have a big riveter.
I guess the only issue I will have is disengaging the window glass from the regulator seeing the instructions I have say to drive the rivets out that hold the glass channel to the reg. with the window rolled all the way up. It is stuck about 6 inches down.
I guess this will drive the point home when I tell someone not to roll the window down cause it is having issues and it may get stuck open they will listen to me next time.
Cause this isn't my vehicle, I told them it could be worse they could be looking at $375 per window reg/motor per side like I did in my car.
Gear driven with meshing teeth not cable design like truck. Not your van?-that either changes things where you just give them some advice and let them lose sleep or you've committed yourself to the long haul. In either case I don't ever buy new unless I have to. To learn about the part just go to your nearest wrench and pull and then practice on some.
