one morning i went to my truck (93 f-350 7.3 idi) to go to school and the wait to start light stayed on for maybe 5 seconds, and was real hard to start. it has been about 2 weeks and is still doing it. i checked the glow plug relay, and the glow plug wires, they had power to them. the glow plugs them self with the wires off, and test light on the positive side of battery had nothing on them. does this mean my glow plugs are shot?
Was it all of them or just a couple. One bad plug can mess up the whole system, it all works off resistance.
What brand are they and any idea how old they are?
Also check the ground for the controller. The black wire is the ground and it should be very clean contact. I ran a separate wire from the battery ground to the controller black wire to give it a great ground. Haven't had problem in 10 years with the controller.
