My drivers side window slid down on it's own. Took off the door panel to find a mess of cabling around the spooling mechanism due to my attempts to bring it up with the switch. After sorting that out, I think the problem is one cable end let go (the one that pulls/holds it up).
Is this a common problem? Can anyone tell me what I should need to replace? Hoping it's not the entire system... I haven't actually pinpointed the issue yet as it is of course raining cats & dogs with my window partially down.
It's a "standard" problem. I've had 2 replaced under warranty and 1 out. Here's some pics of when I did mine. Make sure to keep the window up if you have tint. I scratched mine. I used painter's tape to hold it up, after I scratched the tint.
I had the same issue... Tried to buy just the new wires and spool... but I cant find anyone that sells it. the Dealership wanted 190 bucks for the entire assembly.
