Another Surge Question
I did a search on "surge" and couldn't find exactly what is happening on my 1995 for Bronco. The engine is 351W, fuel injected.
I'm experiencing an engine surge at low idle for only 2 to 3 miles from start up. I can shut down for as little a 5 minutes and the surge returns - again for only 2 to 3 miles. After that everything is fine for the rest of the trip.
This has been happening for about 4 months. Ran several tanks of fuel injector cleaner, changed out plugs, plug wires and fuel filter. Took it to my dealer. They replaced the IAC valve "contaminated with excess sludge" and adjusted engine timing at 10 degree BTDC.
After the dealer visit, the surging was reduced but not eliminated and is progressivly getting worse.
It seem like the problem is with something that goes away when warmed up but cools very quickly at shutdown.
Any suggestions? I'm concerned that it won't pass emissions inspection due this month.
