Hey guys, I normaly hang out in the 73-79 trucks forum, but I have a question about a 2003 explorer. can anyone tell me how to remove the fuse panel so I can get to the back of it, so I can replace a bad flasher relay?
As part of an LED lighting upgrade, I just replaced the stock flasher relay on my 2002 Explorer XLT with an LED flasher. Not easy, due to the limited space.
The owner's manual shows the location of the various relays and mentions bringing down the panel to service. However I removed three screws holding the fuse/relay panel and was still unable to pull the panel down.
I ended up using a mirror and small flat bladed screwdriver to pry the relay out. You should disconnect the battery ground before sticking in a conductor like a screwdriver under the relay as it could cause a short.
Also, you must remove the front plastic panel under the dash first (two screws, then pulls off).
