Unhappy Need To Find Steering Part!

I have been trying unsuccesfully to find a pitman arm shaft seal for my 1965 F-250 Manual Steering. Can anyone tell me where I might come up with one?

THANKS IN ADVANCE

This is one of the most common seals used on any Ford product.

There is no such thing as a Pitman Arm shaft seal....prolly the reason why you cannot find any.

The Pitman Arm attaches to the steering box's splined sector shaft, so you need the sector shaft seal.

C7OZ3591A .. Sector Shaft Seal / Obsolete

Fits: 1961/66 F100/250 2WD Manual Steering // 1967/79 F100/350 2WD Manual Steering.

Fits 1960/72: Galaxie/LTD // Fairlane/Torino // Mercury Meteor/Montego // Mustang/Cougar // Falcon/Comet // Maverick/Comet // ALL: Use with manual steering or power assist P/S.

Fits: 1973 Mustang // 1973/77 Maverick/Comet // 1975/80 Granada/Monarch // ALL: Use with manual steering or power assist P/S.

How many would you like?

GREEN SALES CO. in Cincinnati OH has 102 = 800-543-4959

DON SANDERSON FORD in Glendale AZ has 58 = 623-842-8762.

PARTS INTERNATIONAL in Farmers Branch TX has 50 = 888-727-0418.

MILLER OBSOLETE PARTS in Binghamton NY has 49 = 800-546-7278.

WESLEY OBSOLETE PARTS in Liberty KY has 15 = 606-787-5293.

There's...at least, another 500 scattered across the country at dealers, obsolete parts vendors.

The most common used seal on any Ford product, YET THEY GO AND MAKE THEM OBSOLETE!?
Yeah, that makes sense to me...NOT!
Since Ford makes most of its profit on parts, I think I'd find room on the shelf for this seal.....(and I'd help folks in getting the name right).

Ok, I feel better now.... Now I can go twist off some rusty bolt somewheres..... Have a GREAT day!

Makes sense to me.

When was the last year this seal was used?

1980 = TWENTY NINE years ago.

If the demand was still there, Ford would still stock it.

Sector shaft seal is correct Ford terminology.

Ford still stocks the fuel sending unit float used on ALL cars/trucks 1957/79. Why? Because the part is still in demand.

And...you can still buy a lug nut for your Little Deuce Coupe!
