Trans help

I have a 92 F-150 4x4 with a 351 and a E4OD tranns, The problem I am having is that the tranny went out a couple weeks ago. And I found one out of the the same truck that had a good tranny. After I installed the "new" tranny I tried to turn the motor over to install the torqu converter nuts and the motor would not turn over. The starter will barly make it move. Both motors turned over manuelly to remove the bolts.

I dont know what it could be. The flywheel is not touching the bellhousing, had the starter tested and its good. I just have no clue what it could be.

Are you confident that the torque converter is fully back on the front pump dogs?

YEah, I'm pretty confident that it is seated all the way. But its no problem to drop the tranny down and recheck to make sure its all the way in there. Thanks for the advice.

You should be able to still move the converter studs that are sticking though the flywheel holes with the trans bolted to the back of the engine. If they wont move, the converter is not all the way back into the pump, and you could have done some serious transmission pump damage just by trying to move the crank, even by hand.
