Please help!

Hey all, I'm new to the forum and I need some opinions. I have an 06 Super Crew 4x4 with about 45000 miles. The issue I'm having is this. After setting for any length of time, I get a buzzing sound from the right front wheel area. It raises in pitch as speeds go up. If I engage the front axle, the noise stops immediately and will resume as soon as the front axle is disengaged. It will do this for a few miles and then stop. Any ideas??? Thanks a ton.

OK. I'm gonna get it scheduled to get looked at on Monday. I was just wondering what it could be until then as it is driving me crazy. My first thought was a wheel bearing but when it stopped as soon as I put it in 4 wheel drive, that got me curious.

Well, just got the truck back from the dealer. He said that before the solenoid was replaced some water got into the vacuum line on the right side and ruined the hub lock. Fixed for $248 and change. Works just fine.
Now, the solenoid was fixed under warranty, but the current issue arose after it ran out (naturally). Since it was directly related to the original defect, do you think Ford will reimburse me for the cost? Wondered if anybody had a similar situation. I'm going to document everything and contact Ford and see what happens. I didn't argue it with the dealership. Didn't want to make a scene in there and I was just happy to get my truck back at the time.
