I just replaced the clutch and 3 speed transmission, the clutch engages the tranny very high off of the floor. How do I get the clutch to engage with the pedal close to the floor?

Make sure you Check out all three Links in the thread !
I took it for a drive and as I progressed the clutch pedal started to stick when it went all the way to the floor. It got to the point that I stopped and had to pull the pedal up. I realized I could push the clutch half way in and disengage the transmission to shift. Now what?
Hang on...Re-thinking, it sounds like it actually needs to be shortened. If the clutch disengages/engages with the pedal too high up, that means the adjuster rod is too long.
Yep, shorten it. that sounds right. Right? Hmmm.....I always get this wrong the first time. Some kind of mental block or something.
Y'all have any idea why the clutch pedal stays on the floor when pushed all the way in? I depress it half way to shift, if I push it to the floor it won't come back up. That has become my issue as of right now, I can't figure the other issue out for this one.
The same thing happened to me when I just replaced my clutch, it would engage really high and if i pushed the petal down the whole way it would stick. I didn't adjust anything i just drove the truck and worked the clutch back and forth a bit and it has gone back to how it was before the new clutch. Maybe it just needs time to break in or something.
