Tire question.

I know this question is not a direct diesel question, but I trust you guys info. Haven't had any luck on the generic SD forum. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/8...vibration.html. Thats why I stay away. I know some there know there stuff but.....
Here is my issue, Installed new tires on my truck about 10,000 miles ago. Had the alignment check by the dealer where I bought the truck at right after I put the tires on. He said the alignment is within spec. The front tires are feathering like crazy, and the inner lugs are wearing even faster. Checked ball joints last night, seemed tight, draglink end on the tie rod is a little loose but not that bad. I plan to replace it in the future. Drag link end will not effect alignment anyways. Tie rod ends are tight. Is it toed out? I didn't check it but should have. Have done all my own toe-in adjustments on my other trucks and never had a problem.

Take it too a independent alignment shop. Specificly one that has the latest alignment machine. Stay away from chain store mechanic shops (PepBoys,etc) for front end work. I would check with some of your local body shops to see who they use.

These dealers mechanics work on commission. They don't want to spend two hours doing a $150 dollar job (which they will only make $30 or $40 bucks) they want a $1500 dollar job they can do in a couple of hours.

Good Luck;
Tim

I installed Mastercraft Courser C/T. Load range D, they didn't come in load range E in that size and had a very close weight capacity to the E in a different size. One of the guys I work with took a quick look at my truck just now and suggested I look into new shocks, Said he has seen bad shocks wear tires funny. Not sure the age or milage of the shocks.

I don't usually take my vehicles to any shop. Why pay for work you can do yourself?
