I'm working on installing my transgo kit kit right now and when I was taking the main valve body off it apparently has an upper and a lower section. The lower section has 5 check ***** on it and 2 rolled off. I have them but am unsure of the location of the 5th ball! Please help!!!
The tugger kit. I'm not into the section above the separator plate though. I'm not doing that one, but on the main valve body there's an upper and a lower.
Well, let's wait for Izzy/Joe and see if he can help. I wasn't about to fool with any of that or any of the check ***** with the tranny in the truck for the reasons you describe. Good luck and I hope someone else will chime in and help you out. Your instructions do not tell you where they go?
Welp... we can disregard... I discovered that I'm an idiot and it was written right there in the instructions plain as day. Thanks for the quick reply though Mike! Main VB is done and getting ready to go back in. Now it's on to the Accumulator VB. Thanks again!
Glad you figured it out... I was gonna tell you the check ball locations are in the instructions.. You can use a bit of motor assembly grease to hold the check ***** in place when you reassemble the separator plate ( that is the official name for it) Also make sure the black gaskets on either side of the separator plate are not damaged ( its not 1 piece, its a metal plate with a gasket on each side) I always recommend replacing them regardless to prevent any possible pressure/ fluid leaks.. they run less than $15 for the pair from the dealer
As for the springs... yes they go inside each other I think 2 3 or 4 springs for each valve depending on which valve
Just saw this... Yeah, the check ***** are a bit of a PITA, but part of the deal, I suppose.
I did this long enough ago that I can't recall having problems getting any of them out. Once I pulled out the clips, they just came out, I think. Isn't there one with threads in it so you can put in a screw and use it to pull? Or am I thinking of a different one? Sorry -- it's been over a year now. A lot has gone on for me since then...
Been a while for me too but if memory serves, Joe is right. Should be able to use one of the screws to thread into the piston to help pull it out if it is the one I was thinking of.
