Throttle?
What is a good cable, foot pedal and set up on the intake to make it all work?
It is just jury rigged right now.
Dads heading down to MT for 2 weeks and he will be doing some work on my pick up.
I might be going.
Thanks
Bill will probably say there are several lengths, but it doesn't matter much because the cable outer part itself can be adjusted in the clamp that holds it. You will have to setup and final adjust any cable that you install in the truck to match the carb.
John
Thanks guys.
Another question what do you use for lube on the closed knuckles up front?
Currently using grease mixed with thick gear oil.
Cannot keep straight gear oil in the knuckles even with new seals.
For your linkage, I would recommend a "solid" linkage....you can make one with a piece of all thread and the little "ball and socket" ends. The ball stud will fit right in the hole on the end of the accel. pedal and it keeps the throttle nice and tight.... Mine originally had a "rigged" cable and any minor movement of the engine on it's mounts or movement from bumps in the road would make keeping the throttle steady a real pain.... I can post some pics of mine tomorrow to show you what I did.
For the lube....(sounds like you are talking about the DANA 44 front axle)...I am pretty sure that those take oil...30w?, if I recall correctly (check that first though!!) there are also a set of seals in there that you may need to replace to keep the oil from leaking too much if yours are worn.
