I got a one piece down pipe from a friend and was wondering if it is possible to get it installed with an auto tranny or do I need to get a two piece dp?
yes sir it will. i also think you have to drop the motor down quite a bit to get the 1 piece to sneak bye.
2 pice is alot more simple to put in and take out. a 2 peice 3 inch downpipe from tymar is like 110 bux or somthing like that. id go with that.

Ok I am very good with a welder so I think I may just cut it an make it in to a two piece by welding a expanded end in it so I can slide it together and clamp it when I get it in there. Any problems with that?
no that should work if you cut it at a good spot.... use a chop saw 2 get a nice clean cut and then clamp it together dont weld it. also you will have to bend ur firewall seam in so the new DP wont hit it while driving. its loud as hell in the cab if it hits.

also bring the cut peice to a muffler shop and have them expand it a little bit. dont weld on a expaned peice.
ok my buddy had a two piece on his so I will measure and and go off of that and will use my band saw to cut it. Thanks for the help. I was about to hack the factory one off and start on this but think I will wait till I get the new dp ready before doing it.
