Can anyone tell me what these digits on the tag attached to the rear-end of my `99 Ranger mean : S374S 10 75 8L02 ? Thanks up front . . .

OK - I re-read the tag - bottom half starts "4" 10 (= 4.10) and 75 (= 7.5 inch) but what the heck is "8L02" ? And what the heck is the top line reading "S 374 S" ?

"8L02" I believe is like a production sequence number or something like that. The top line "S 374 S" contains the axle model number.

Hey thanks MRShorty - I'm still not clear if this tells me anything I didn't already know though - 4.10 gears and 7.5 inch - but thank you just the same !
