But seriously, Serg, I read the other day that Textron was dumping 20% of their workforce. But you work for a unit that was sold off, right?
You are correct yet again. I work for who is known as Woodward HRT. They seem to be growing even in the economy. I believe they did this exact thing the last time economy took a crap. They went around buying everyone. And now they are a global company known as Woodward Governer.
Textron is on it's way out. Unfortunalty it is taking everyones retirement with them. There are folks here that have 40 years investing in there stock plan and now it's worth nothing. One guy said he will not be able to retire as he planned. Sucks.
It's an off and on thing I guess. It just takes something interesting, or silly, to pop up and get a party going. Just counting the pages already for May, it seems to me that we are about on par.
We're pretty busy here so I have to scoot around a lot lately. Today we've got customers in-house for an equipment buyoff, and I'm twiddling my thumbs while the plant does their demo. I have to be instantly available if a problem arises, and can't get too involved in anything else. Then at the closing meeting they will ask for a bunch of free stuff or modifications and I'll have to put on my diplomat hat.
As long as we are staying within our monthly grove I guess it's ok. I been busy myself. Hope I get to stay around for a wile. The new owners of the company seem to have thier sites on moving things around. It's a good thing.

Yes, it is sad. That's the downside to company sponsored retirement plans. They are great going in, not so great coming out, for either the employee or company. Now that 401K's are only 201K's, a lot of people are wishing for the old company plans to come back. They should take a good look at stories like Textron before they wish too hard.
Were you able to convert out of the Textron plan into a Woodward plan? Or are you getting screwed too?

I rolled mine into an IRA. Just started up the new 401K plan they offer. Textron offered stock purchase options. Thats were most lost there money. The new company does not offer that. Although I purchased some of there stock when it was at $6.?? and it has gone up a bit. I just hope this was a good move for the workers and not just the workers. If all else fails I can get back into Long Hauling. It's a good money maker, it just strips you of your time at home.
Hello put bigger tires and rims on my f250 superduty and now it shakes do you know what it needs to make it stop thanks for your time nkcbscott@yahoo.com
