Ouch, I assume that the driver of the van ran a stop sign or light??
And you are probably right that the insurance company will total the car. Most do seem to total them when they have been hit on the side, especially if the side was pushed in pretty good.

No the accident happened on the highway..
She was in the 3rd lane and she said the car started to swerve..
They told her she hit the center guard rail then crossed over the highway.. That is when the van hit her..
Could have been a lot worse..
It was windy yesterday morning so that could have contributed or she hit a bump.. Who knows..
Gotcha. We had the nasty winds on Saturday. It was fun driving the Edge with the wind hitting it on the driver's side and just about blowing you off the road
I took my wife out to dinner Saturday night and we took the truck because of the wind figuring that it is heavier than the Edge, the wind may not blow it around as bad. Yeah right..... it just about blew me clear off the road into a corn field.

The wind can be deadly.. The problem is you can't see it coming at you..
That is one reason I don't like small cars.. You really take your life in your hands driving one of those when it's windy..
