i cant remember how much it was to do ours... they changed the outside and inside unit on ours... along with adding one of them electric air purifiers, and a 2nd vent into my room.. (which im loving that 2nd vent.. my rooms not a sauna yr round anymore)

we had them go ahead and put that newer "Eco friendly" freon theyre gonna make everyone change over to here in 2012 i think they said into it... figured they might as well since theyre putting in the new system.. might as well do it from the get go than having it converted later... since it doesnt work real well on the cars... just better off having it installed that way to start with...

our carrier got us through 13 yrs before the first time we had to have it "serviced"... had it refilled twice before they found the leak.. which was the evaporator... which got us 3 more yrs.. they couldnt find the 2nd leak that poped up after that... had it filled twice over the next 2 yrs.. sad thing is the compressor froze up on the 18th yr... so we just replaced it all and told them to put the new stuff in it...
they were saying if after "the date" if there were any problems theyd have to change it over... cuz of some mandate going into effect by the EPA...

There is also a law that say's they can't charge it without fixing the leak.

Now that I can't do it , I get this guy to work on my A/C. He charge me for cleaning my condenser, when I ckecked it, it was dirty so I called him back. He did'nt like coming back, but he will get over it.

old unit my room was a constant 80 in the winters... (thats with it set to 65 in the winters..) summers.. itd be set to 72.. but my room would be anywhere from 90-110... this new one and the added vent... my rooms staying pretty close to what the t-stats set to... i know its set to 68 atm... and according to the thermo on my wall... 71... aint bad in here really... nice and cozy...
