GIGABYTE - GA-EX58-EXTREME (rev. 1.0) motherboard
Intel i7-965 CPU
3Gig of Kingston XMP DDR3 2000
Turbo-Cool PPCT1200ESA power supply
I'm in the middle of looking for a BFG GTX 285 or 295 H2OC video card.
Then a water-cooled chassis.
That's at least another G right there and will likely wait on me saving up more money.
Personally Dave I would not use that board..Not a good brand
Since I already pulled the trigger, what can I expect?
Pete, Could the 6637 have been installed without cutting? I've been wanting to install the 6637 but can't bring myself to go hacking up perfectly good parts. I have been debating the AIS instead.
Also, from what I have read, the CCV reroute should go up and over the master cylinder before progressing down, This should alleviate any issue with engine heat melting the hose. (This is another one I have to do sooner rather than later)
Greg
Well it could get installed without cutting, but you'd have to get the battery tray off a van instead of using stock. There's not a snowball's chance in hell you'd fit a 6637 in there with a stock battery box still in place.
Trust me I tried. The battery box and under-hood fuse panel are just too close to fit that monster filter in.
Couple things about your statement of "Hacking up perfectly good parts"
1: It's not "hacking" it's a "precision dismemberment"
2: If they were perfectly good they wouldn't need replacing in the first place!
And after speaking with Clay at RiffRaff I got a set of instructions and I'll go to Home Depot and find a fuel rated 90 degree fitting to shoot my hose up and over the master cylinder.
I got one of the first kits he made up so there were no instructions.
Greg: If you're uncomfortable with precisely dismembering your stock parts I'd be happy to give you a hand with it if you'd like. It's fun once you're started!
I'm going back down there in a few minutes to do some more precision dismemberment as well as installing the fitting into my AIH's hole so I can pull a boost reading instead of having a pretty, but very un-functional boost gauge.
So once I'm back tonight I'll be able to add yet another mod to my sig.
AIH Delete. And maybe a Zoodad if I'm feeling ambitious.

Is the van tray the trick? I have been searching and searching but couldn't find a replacement that didn't come with another entire filter setup like the AIS. Technically since I only bought this truck a year ago I still have an extended warranty with it for another year. I don't want to make any major changes until that has run out, thus the 6637 and ccv are easily undone should it need to go back. Although I suppose if there were any issues, they would find a way to blame the plow since that isn't supported in a diesel/crew cab configuration. I also plan wheel/tire upgrades later this year ($2000), and if we can find a way to end the lease on my wife's SUV early she will drive the truck on the rare occasion she leaves the house, so I will get the roll top tonneau so she can lock things in the bed ($1000). That's enough for my budget this year. Next year might be the exhaust and DP tuner.

Yea I believe it is just a battery tray. If you want a stock airbox I have one. Just the airbox though. Nothing more than that. I have the plastic piece for the CCV that Ford put in to vent that oily crap into the intake. If anyone wants em they're free to a good home.
I've got my tray chopped down to the absolute bare minimum right now.
Lid is gone, whole left hand side is gone, and the side closest to the driver is smoothed down FLAT.
