Sean: In those pics Jim was working hard. I was sitting there feeling like a jerk since I wasn't doing anything but watching him work on my truck.

Brian: It took Jim something like 3 or 4 hours on the gauges. The exhaust was another hour or two.

The 6637 I did by myself in under an hour. Popped the batteries out. Popped the hose off the stock airbox and took the stock air filter out and threw it out. Disgusting thing it was. Unbolted the stock airbox and pulled it out. Pulled out the battery tray and cut it down to size so that the filter would fit by using a die grinder w/cutting wheel.

The CCV was actually more challenging than the 6637 was. I did it today. I spent half my time getting cut up by the sharp ends of tielocks we put on yesterday for the GPR LED. I got smart after a while and flipped them so the sharp end faced away from me. Then the real struggle was getting the hose from the dogbox to the intake off. From there I flipped the dogbox around and tried getting that blasted piece in the intake out. Had to run a screwdriver around it to get it out. I still haven't figured out a good way to route the hose for my CCV mod. I've got it run down against my firewall and it's ziptied to the frame and I terminated it right after the crossmember that is under my trans.

I'm a little worried that it might melt due to its proximity to the engine though.

Pete, Could the 6637 have been installed without cutting? I've been wanting to install the 6637 but can't bring myself to go hacking up perfectly good parts. I have been debating the AIS instead.

Also, from what I have read, the CCV reroute should go up and over the master cylinder before progressing down, This should alleviate any issue with engine heat melting the hose. (This is another one I have to do sooner rather than later)

Hello All,
Finished with the new brake system on the 56 this weekend, now I am going to install a new exhaust system. Going to 2-1/2" pipes with an "X" pipe into 2 flow masters straight out the back.

Looks like some of you made some progress on your trucks this weekend. As they say..."The difference between men and boys...is the price of their toys"!!!

pete- thats where i ran mine, the vapors dont ever bother me, sometimes when you stop at a red light some vapors will roll up past the window, but thats the only time i ever see them. UNLESS.......your engine has excessive blowby like james' did. he had more smoke coming out of the ccv than the tailpipe! a cracked ring will do that though!
