ok im new here first ford ive owned and diesel but anyways i have a 1995 f250 7.3 powerstroke 5 speed runs drives good well couple days ago at idle i looked at my dash and my battery light was blinkin and my voltage meter was jumpin alittle but when i get goin it stops and meter levels out??? and another thing i descovered today is when im idleing and turn my radio up loud or turn my heat or ac on or use a window the battery light stops flashing but when i turn all of them off and the truck is just idleing it starts flashing again the batteries r new i made sure the cables was tight and they r it starts up fast no hard starts even in cold so what could this possibly be? please help thanks

I'd get a load tester and see what your alternators putting out, you may wanna check the wires goin into the alternator as well, they have a habit of gettin pulled out/bent over from workin on the fuel system.....

At idle about 14 plus volts with known good battery's. Bet one of the two new battery's is bad or defective. Take them out and have each load tested where you purchased them or an independent dealer. How long have you had the new battery's and what CCA rating are they? Also brand?

i have no clue they just put them in when i bought it i think their superflex or something like that ive had the truck 2 weeks and it just start yesterday but it wont do it when u first drive it u have to drive about 10-15 miles b4 it will flash at idle it does fine when u first get in and drive at idle no flashin but after alittle drivin it will start...

the harness on top of the alternator is notorious for being loose and causing the battery light to come on intermittently. some have had luck with cramming something (like a piece of cardboard) in beside the harness to hold it still and get a good connection. it sounds like that's your problem to me...

I agree with all that's been said, but based on the responses, I think everyone is assuming your belt is not slipping. Is it in good condition, too? If it is, I'm leaning towards the alternator connection like previously suggested.
