I hopped in the truck today and headed for work. Seemed to be running a bit rough down the gravel road, then when i hit the highway, my truck is running really rough and the check engine light is blinking at me.. let off the gas and the lights stays on. Hit the gas again and the light blinks on and off. Also a burning smell coming from somewhere.
So I limped it back home and hopped in the car and headed to work.
I'm guessing bad coil or plug, Or maybe even blown plug? (i hope not)
I'm going to check into it more this weekend when i have time, just wondering what you guys thought?
Thanks in advance
Adam
Pick up a OBDII code reader, and see whats up.Theyre cheap, and can be worth their weight in gold.If this issue just cropped up.I doubt if its anything major, but you never know.
when you get a coil or plug code, it normally does not go away when you hit the throttle. the code says. you can drive with a bad COP, i have done it several times. You dont get a burning oil smell with a bad COP. If a plug blows, you can definitly hear that. You need to get the code read to narrow this down.
