backup sensor disabled at startup?
I had my wife's Escape for a couple days, and I noticed that there's about a 50/50 chance that when starting the vehicle the backup sensors will be disabled, i.e. the disable button on the dash is lit. Doesn't seem be any pattern that I can detect as to whether it will be on or off. And if it's on, you need to push the button twice to get it to go off.
Kind of weird, was never like that before. Any else experience this?

Since I made this first post, it now comes up disabled 100% of the time. Haven't bothered to have it fixed, it's got 130K on it now and if I had the time, what I'd do is get the CDs that are stuck out of the player. That pisses me off more...

Probably one of the sensors is out, when one goes none of them work. I don't have them on my Escape but my superduty has them and that's exactly what it does. The dealer can hook it up and tell you exactly which one is bad...or you can buy one and just swap out until it works for less money. You can try taking them out and cleaning them w/ some electrical contact cleaner first.
