just changed ECT and it still dose it. i have try unpluging the TPS and it still dose it. is there anything else that could be makeing it do this?? MAP, o2, the computer????
You said the EGR is disabled, but is the valve still there? If the valve is still there, the vacuum diaphragm in it may have ruptured, or the line that went to it could have cracked or became unplugged if the EGR was completely removed and the line was plugged. Look on the passenger side fender wall, where the relays are. You should see a little round solenoid looking thing with two vacuum lines going into it. This is your EGR control solenoid, look for any cracks or holes into the lines going to it - if it is even still there.
MAP and O2 sensor will cause rough rich/lean running. Not really effect idle speed - unless the map ruptured and has an internal leak now.
its still there. but if there was a problem wouldnt it do it all the time. it only dose it when i drive it a little ways and its just random when it dose do it. and i have checked it out and it all seams fine
No it would not. The computer controls the opening and closing of the solenoid. If it opens the solenoid, and the vacuum line going to the EGR valve is cracked, it will dump air into the intake
so no one knows? what about the computer? oh and dose anyone know if the computer out of an 88 will work with my 87. someone told me that it would and would get rid of the egr
