I am going to drive from South Florida to New York City at the end of June to pull a U-haul back with my daughter's furniture. I have 170K on the 98 F150 4x4 XLT automatic truck and wanted some ideas of what to do before I leave. Mainly should I add a trans cooler and deep trans pan, or just do a service on the trans and let it go from there.
Thanks Dan
Make sure you have lots of limit left on the CCards.
If you are going to do a trans service, do it now and run it for a while. I don't recommend a flush. I had one followed by trans failure, as have several other posters here. Could be a coincedence, could be meaningless... BUT any work, service, new component, etc, should be shaken out BEFORE the trip.
