Spring shot?

'95 F250 PowerSmoke 4x4 5-speed, aprx. 152,000 miles, Dana 50 TTB front.

I had a guy tell me that if the spring is arced "downward", it's shot. Is that so? Seems like the front springs on the TTB are meant to arc the other way. Maybe he was just thinking of the solid axle 60, since that's what he's used to working on.

Here are pics of the left-side spring, one from the rear outside, and one from the front.

I know not much can be told from photos about the condition of the springs, but I'm just wondering about this general idea of the arc direction. It seems there's no way it could have arced the other way originally; the front end would have been WAY higher.

Does my question make sense? Does what this guy told us make sense?

Those look about right. On the TTB, if your springs were sagged, the tops of the tires would be in quite a bit.

Okay, y'mean they'd be "cambered" in on top? No, they're certainly not that. Yeah, I think the guy just didn't realize we were talking TTB vs. solid. Thanks.
