My 2001 F250, 7.3L, blower motor switch has to be turned to high to get blower motor to operate. Heat and AC work great! Is the switch an individual switch or are the three dial *****, located near each other, a one piece unit? Also, how much trouble to change the switch or unit? Thanx in advance for the help.
dc, I found the problem and have effected a repair. I located the resistor array, thanks for the pic, and removed it. I went thru the process of checking the continuity of the diode, or what I thought was a diode in the circuit. Turns out that what I thought was a diode, in reality, is a thermal fuse rated for 151 degrees celsius and approx. 300 degrees farenhiet(sp). I went to my local Radio Shack and they looked it up on their data. According to the Radio Shack manager. The replacement thermal fuse is a Radio Shack part #270-1320. This cost a total of $1.69. I soldered it in to replace the original, replaced the connector and turned the blower switch to each setting with great results. My blower motor works great! Be sure to use a heat sink in soldering in the thermal fuse to insure that the soldering iron heat does not blow the thermal fuse. Thanks ever so much for your help in this repair.
