First of all, I'm new here. I am looking for information about swapping seats. My work truck is a '96 F-250HD XL, RCLB. It has the fabric bench seat in it. I would like to know what the model year range I can pull seats out of to fit into mine. Will I need to do any modifications to put buckets, or any different type of bench in? What tools will be required to remove the seat? My bench seat is simply too worn, and the seat back frame at the head rest, seems like it is at just the right position to give me a serious head injury if I get tail ended, so I would like to find something with a higher headrest, so my melon doesn't collide with steel and glass.
This has probably been discussed many times before - have you tried a search of the forum? In fact, I think I started a thread some time ago on this very thing. I have a similar truck ('97 though) and would like to someday swap mine out too.
