Mock up assembly of the 'black box' as we are now calling it. The switch and potentiometer are wired together, but wires still need to be run out from the switch. That will have to wait til this weekend because the car is not at school with us and we need to know length.

So we wired the thing into the Probe's IAT sensor and drove around for a while with it. With it off the car behaved like normal, but with it on, seemingly regardless of where the resistance was, the car seemed a little more doggish than usual, and fuel mileage went down the drain. Oh well, lesson learned and not my car! The good thing about all this is I now have a free switch and 18 ga. wire to do my DIY torque converter lockup switch!
