All the wires in the EZ are labeled every six inches as to function.

You will need to purchase an aftermarket headlight switch as the 63 switch and fuse block wont cut it.

Do you have a 61 shop manual or the 62 63 supplement? These have the stock wiring schematic.

I have a EZ 21 for my 63 and will be using the stock ignition switch, a 78 converted wiper delay and custom AC/Heat panel.

Basically with the kit you use very little of the stock wiring.

These old trucks really do not have a lot of wiring to them. You are better off to be starting from scratch as these trucks are getting up in age and some if not all of the stock wires have seen better days.

If you run short of wiring in your kit, you can always use regular wire from your local parts house to finish the project.

If you are changing wiring under the hood, you will need to make sure to run a ballast resistor or resistive wire if you plan to run points on your engine as they don't last very long on 12 volts.

The factory gauges run off of a 5 volt regulator which is supplied by 12 volts.

Other wise I think off the top of my head most of the wiring is pretty straight forward.

As long as it drops the voltage down to I beleive between 6 and 9 volts you should be fine. If the wire was bad I would just use regular wire and a balast resistor in its place.

Suggest purchasing the 63 Ford Wiring Manual, majority of the Ford parts suppliers carry them but likely find it cheaper purchasing directly from publisher: $7. Strongly suggest not wasting money on the laminated color chart type, speaking from experience, found it to be useless. Anyhow, with any luck the ez kit will have the same wire color codes. Lay out original harness, or what remains of them, as templets, then using the new EZ kit make up new harnesses. Seem to recall there's an article in Classic Truck Magazine on rewiring truck using aftermarket kits, think it was a chevy truck but principle would be same. If interested, go to their website under tech articles and either browse or run a search.

Going through the trouble of rewiring the entire truck i would purchase a full 12 volt coil. and ditch the old points unit.

Modern hi po coils are internally resisted. A good aftermarket Mallory, Accel or Blaster.

They take 12 volts on crank and internally resist to 9 volts when running. No need for a ballast resistor or a resistor wire.

You could look at installing a ( Pentroix ) Kit , that changes yours to electronic !

It fits inside your stock ( DIS. Cap ) .
