clutch packs

can anyone tell me ho to replace my clutch packs on my F150? it has a 9.75 ring gear with 3.55 ratio.

This is not a task for someone that is not set up for rear differential service.

i have had expierence with differentials just not with the limited slip. just wonderin if someone could give me some advice that would help!

Lots of brass: wedges, blocks, pins, square stock, etc.. Oh yeah, and lots of patience.

To change the clutch packs in a 9.75 you must either have the ford tool or make one your self. Basically what you need to do is make a tool to push the side spider gears apart, you can use your axle in a vise to keep the spiders from turning. Then you can rotate the housing while you keep the side spider gears from turning, which once you turn it enough you can release the tension on the spider gears and remove them.
