Header Help

Buying new headers for my 78 Bronco, 408M. What is the difference between chassis exit headers and fender well exits? And which would be better for my Bronc.?

Fender well exit leaves the collectors turned out to continue the exhaust out through the front fender wells. Chassis leaves them running back to continue the exhaust along the frame and then exit from under some other point on the truck. The OEM exhaust exit is the only one I have ever used simply because other locations just aren't safe enough for my liking. Now as for the fender exit up front, I do not know how feasible that is. Perhaps someone who has utilized this header type can chime in here with some insight.

i got a 79 with a 460 and they offered both headers i chose the fenderwell exit and they work great alot better than chassis exit b/c these u will have problems running pipe beside t-case u will have to run both pipes around to passenger side then split them back out after t-case the fenderwell exit required minor inner fender triming but then i just ran the pipes straight back thruogh two cherrybombs and turned them out infront of rear tires
