just installed 4'' lift on a 79 need to know if drop links have to be extended. 2'' blocks under rear springs seems to have changed position of sway bar to axle housing, any pics of this entire install will help big.
I just got 2 lengths of thick wall pipe I D to be slip fit of O D of bar on the sway bar rod. cut the rod mid mark and weld into place the longer length pipe. Thick wall pipipe will not bend and is as ridged as the rod. Weld it good and grind smooth. It worked and looked great on mine.
I just measured the length needed for the added lift. After getting how much to add, cut the rod, lay the 2 parts on a flat surface, add the add length to between the 2 parts, mark on each rod where you want the weld at, that mark will be where you get the length of pipe- mark to mark, when you put it together and weld the pipe, it will go over the rod ends to each mark and when welded will be one longer rod. I could get a postal mail pic to you only, dont have computer pic setup.
rear sway bar sucks take it off wont hurt stability a bit just limiting flex and i would not run blocks if ur thinking about doing any offroading with it they will break 2 inch block did u add leafs to spring packs if not must look like ur drivin up hill
allright i installed bar on housing, pulled up drop links where they were before lift, i'm thinkin 2'' blocks 2'' difference but it looks more like 4'' go figger , anyway i'm thinkin about gittin 3/4 bar stock 4'' longer than stock duplicate bends weld stock ends on what say nev.
