Thanks for the hospitality. I'm just figuring out the forum's ins and outs. About 2 months ago I picked up two pickups out of Canon City, CO. One is a 74 F-250 4x4 with a 390, and the other is a 72 Ranger XLT shortbox 4x4 with a 390. The 74 runs and drives, and the 72 is a weekend away from running. I'm hoping this summer with a little TLC and some $ that I'll have both these projects up and running. I've also got a 460 tore down and cleaned up waiting for a rebuild at our farm just outside of Kearney, but I'm not sure which pickup I want it in. I'll try and get some pictures put up this week.

Look forward to seeing the pics, sounds like a couple of nice projects! Hey, if you need parts, be sure to visit George at the NAPA in Kearney, he'll hook you up!

Thanks again for the warm welcome. George drive the white 69 F100 right? I've seen it around town, real nice pickup. I've tried getting a part-time job at a parts store to help support my vehicle habits, but haven't had much luck. Sometimes the parts and time put into the pickup seems to be such a blackhole, money pit of death, but it's all worth it when you can see it start to come together. Next week is finals week here at UNK, so I'll try and take a study break and get those pictures up here soon.

Question for you guys while I'm here. The 72 didn't come with keys, so I've got a new ignition to swap in it, but I can't get the old one out. I can't seem to get the old ignition out with the pinhole release. Is there a trick to it? Or is there another way to get it out?

Thanks guys!

George's truck is gorgeous! It'll be even better when he gets the 428 in it! I'm looking forward to getting my 67 F-100 project started this summer. Not sure about the key release, I can see if a couple of the other guys might know.

Luce - Welcome to the forum - I must warn you though - some of these guys can get a bit windy! To get the lock cylinder out of the switch you must have the key. You need to turn it to the accessory position and then depress the release through the hole. If you don't have the keys I believe you must purchase the lock and switch assembly. I stock both of these in my premium line but not in my value line (but could have it in a day). Someone may have a way of getting the lock cylinder out with out a key but I have never been succesful. Stop in and see me if you need some help, I'm always willing to give out free advice but I have to charge for the parts!
