I have 3 kicker comp vr 10's behind my seat in a custom built box and it sounds great. I have each sub powered by its own 1000 watt monoblock amp. For the door speakers i have polk audio momo 6 1/2" components in all four doors powered by two jl audio 1200 watt amps all run by pioneer premier dvd headunit and it all sounds great. Before you get crazy on the subwoofers make sure you can build a box with enough air space for them because these trucks sure dont make it easy. You can put huge subwoofers in but if they dont have enough air space for them to run properly they wont sound nearly as good as they good.
this is what i did....
4 - Rockford Fosgate 6x8's with 50w rms to each from an audiobahn 4 channel amp - A4004V, and then 3 - Rockford Fosgate 12" shallowmount subs in a box from supercrew sound (behind rear seat) which are powered by another audiobahn amp the - A12001DT they are @ 2ohms (series/parallel) so about 750watts to the subs. and finally a Kenwood DVD dbl din model DDX7019....& 2.4 farad Capacitor.
Please tell me where you got the kicker 10" and enclosure from. I have an 07, will I have to take the tray out from behind the seat to get the box to fit? Thanks for the good post.
im sure he did have to take the tray out. i have a jl 8" and i had to remove the tray and remove and trim the molded carpet behind the seat to get mine to fit. i was a PIA!
250 Aggie, I took pics of some stuff. I have an '08 so I don't know how different your '07 would be. I had to cut away the carpet and insulation, also took out the air vent. Enclosure rests against the sheet metal and on the passenger side of the power sliding rear window mechanism. Very tight fit but there is JUST enough room for it and the speaker to move freely. I'll also say again, it will blow away anybody inside the truck. Can't hardly hear it outside though. Oh well. The amp gets it's audio signal from the rear speakers, close by and easy. Automatic power switching is controlled by a splice into my upfitter switches. Not the best but it was easy.
I don't know why the first image did not work. It's the most important one. I bought it in Philadelphia, MS at a whole in the wall audio place. You'll be able to find one anywhere I'm sure.
