Exactly what do you want to program. the only thing you can do with a programmer is throw it in the bed and give it a ride.

speed, these trucks are mechanical, there is no computer to program, everything involded runs off the engine, you program it by upgrading or changing parts, not programs

I'll translate Starmilt answer for you...

There is no computer for/on the 6.9, thus a programmer is useless!

I need a translater huh. lol
Cold air intake.
Head studs.
Free flowing exhaust
Intercooler.

The turbo is the best performance mod hands down but these others enhance it.

If you want to build up a 6.9, then its back to basics. You need to think old school like free flowing exhaust, open intake or ram air intake......... and a turbo.

Intake and exhaust mods will gain you maybe 15 Hp. Turbocharger will get you 80.

Head studs are a good idea if you can afford them (~$250 for the set).

Don't be so quick to write off a turbocharger because you can find used turbo kits in working condition for below half the cost of a new one (banks, ATS and hypermax all made kits for this engine for many years). You can tweak and mod all you like, but nothing will have the effect of a turbocharger. It will feel like a completely different truck.

Yes and know on a 6.9 your limited to 10 pounds boost without studs.
You can easily get 15 with a few of the other mods but can't keep headgaskets on it without studs.

You know I've actualy found a site about a year ago that had a listing for a superchips ckip for a 94 turbo 7.3l IDI, thought it was a typo but then relised right above it they had the 94 7.3 DI chips, I still wounder what they would have sent me. I figured it would be an allen wrench and a tap to tap out the clevis on the waste gate or a piece that broke off when somebody dropped a 7.3. Hey i could take my aire hammer to my junk 7.3 block and make a whole bunch of chips and sell them on ebay! I'll be rich.

Facts are Head Studs do nothing for performance ... They just keep it together longer.

You can put 15 lbs (or more) to a NON Head Studded 6.9 and it will run, Granted not for long, Head Studs just lengthen that run time.

Exactly, thats the point of them....what would be the point of having fun running 15 lbs of boost just to tear back into the motor to do a head-gasket job in a short amount of time???

I'd say as long as you stay below 12 or so, I'd skip on them for now. But if your looking into a hi-performer....then they should be high on the priorities list.
