That's good to hear. Now how many others out there have not gotten around to re-torquing things under the valve covers as Dan has suggested for so long?

I figure since I'll be taking so much stuff out of the truck in the next two weeks to replace my up pipes I'm going to pop the valve covers as well and re-torque my little friends as well and make sure I have the .50 mod done as well to avoid being stranded but I hope that Machplowboyny will post pics of the job and get back to us when the fix is complete and his kitty is growling once again.
For anyone who needs to know.
Rocker pedastal bolts are 20 foot pounds.
Injector hold downs are 120 inch pounds.
I'm not sure on the glow plugs, but 120 inch pounds sounds good to me for those.

I will be out there tonight since the dealer just called and the parts are in. I ll take the camera out tonight. The bottom bolt was a little difficult but came out fine with some patience. I ll post back with pics i hope. Depends how long the test drive is. 4 days is extreme withdrawl! One torque question though. I Installed arp head studs and cometic triple layer head gaskets. I ran through the torque sequence to pre stress everything but nowhere does it say to retorque after running. Not from cometic or arp. I assume since the sequence takes about an hour that everything is set after the final torque it s good? Any thoughts?
Pull the injectors to get at all of them? I re-torque everything? Ahh man, that sucks (Correct me if I ***-u-me-d wrong)
He's saying if you want to re-torque the headstuds, you might need to pull the injectors. If you just want to torque the rockers, injectors and glow plugs, you only have to pull the valve covers.
Dan do you think he should change the injector o-rings on that injector ? I'm thinking with both valves closed thats a lot of pressure and it's gotta go somewhere .

As long as there isn't any liquid in the cylinders, it won't make any more pressure at the top of the stroke than if the valves were opening.
And a lot less pressure than it would when operating at 20psi of boost.
With that said, there is no problem with being too careful.
It's an easy job to pull those things and re-ring them and be done.
